Pat Owen

Pat is a painter and muralist and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Southern Maine and studied drawing at the Art Institute of Chicago. Her mural work has been featured on HGTV and in publications such as Home Magazine and Taunton’s Fine Homebuilding. She recently completed a private commission and a week residency at Ballyduff Primary School, working with students in preparation for an exterior mural project. She has conducted workshops at Kerry County Museum for Feile Barraicini.

Recent exhibitions have included;  Mill Cove Gallery 10th Anniversary Painting Competition, Cork. ‘Oilithreact’ (Pilgrimage) i2i  Feile na Bealtaine, Dingle. ‘Idir Threimhse’ (In Transition) solo exhibition, Dingle. Christmas show, Green Lane Gallery, Dingle. Print Exhibitions include; ‘Plata Te’ (Hot Plate) Green Lane Gallery, Dingle. An Lab (etchings) Dingle. ‘Laistios den gCnoc’ (Crossing the Mountain), Dingle.

She recently completed illustrations for ‘The Chrysalis Reader’ (Literary Journal of The Swedenborg Foundation Press). Her image of James Joyce was used on the Ireland/Shanghai Expo 2010 website.

In the State of Maine (USA) Pat was a founding member of two Arts/Cultural organisations; The Union of Maine Visual Artists (UMVA) which initiated the Percent for Art Scheme for the State and The Maine Irish Heritage Centre, where she was a member of the board and chairperson of the Arts and Education Committee.

For the past four years she has worked as a committee member for the Dingle Film Festival and is an active participant in the i2i annual Feile na Beltaine exhibitions. She is currently a committee member of Meitheal Eitseala.
