Beidh taispeántas nua á oscailt Dé hAoine seo chugainn d’ Oíche Chultúir agus beidh beirt ón Meitheal pháirteach ann. Bhí Deirdre McKenna agus Pat Owen roghnaithe i measc seachtar eile don taispeántas seo ag An Roinn Ealaíon, Oidhreachta, Gnóthaí Réigiúnacha, Tuaithe agus Gaeltachta i gCill Áine.

Tá an taispeántas THIAR | HERE fós ar siúil sa Lab agus beidh sé ar oscailt d’ Oíche Chultúir chomh maith.

A new exhibition showcasing artists from around the County will be opening in the Department of Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs in Killarney as part of this years Culture Night and two of our Meitheal Eitseála artists were chosen to take part, Deirdre McKenna and Pat Owen.

Still showing at An Lab is our lovely show THIAR | HERE and that will also be open to the public on Culture Night.

Meitheal Eitseála started out as a group of artists who came together to learn the art of etching under the masterful eye of Niall Naessens. We have since organised many exhibitions, workshops, artists talks and open studio events in the print studio we opened in Dingle. We are no longer a formal group since this central workshop had to close but we still touch base with each other from time to time to discuss projects and problems. This exhibition is the result of one of those discussions. We wanted to show what we’ve been working on and, with a few other artists, who also work in fine art printmaking in West Kerry, to show the wide variety of techniques and expression used by printmakers. We hope you enjoy the show.

Thosnaigh Meitheal Eitseála amach mar ghrúpa ealaíontóirí a tháinig le chéile chun ceárd na heitseála a fhoghlaim fé shúil mháistriúil Niall Naessens. Ó shin i leith tá cuid mhór taispeántaisí, ceardlann, cainteanna ealaíontóra agus imeachtaí stiúdió oscailte eagraithe againn sa stiúdió priontála a d’osclaíomar sa Daingean. Nílimid le chéile mar ghrúpa foirméalta a thuilleadh ó bhí ar an stiúdió úd dúnadh, ach bímid fós i dteagmháil lena chéile go mion minic chun tionscnaimh agus fadhbanna a phlé. Eascraíonn an taispeántas seo as ceann dos na babhtaí teagmhála sin. Bhí fonn orainn taispeáint go bhfuilimid ag obair linn agus, i dteannta roinnt ealaíontóirí eile a oibríonn i réimse an phriontáil ealaíne i gCorca Dhuibhne, cuid dos na teicnící agus módhanna léirithe iomadúla a úsáidteann lucht déanta priontaí a chur ós comhair bhur súile. Tá súil againn go mbainfidh sibh súp as an seó.

Niall Naessens & Deirdre McKenna at Cork Midsummer Festival

An exciting show of fine art printmaking by 25 of Cork Printmakers talented artists is to open as part of Cork Midsummer Festival on Friday 17th June. We are delighted to see two of our own ( Niall Naessens and Deirdre McKenna) on the list of artists selected by Miranda Driscoll, Director of Sirius Arts Centre, Cobh.

Beidh taispeántas priontála de shaothar ó ealaíontóirí Cork Printmakers á sheoladh an deireadh seachtaine seo chugainn. Tá an taispeántas seo ar chlár Cork Midsummer Festival agus tá an-áthas orainn go bhfuil beirt ealaíontóir ó Chorca Dhuibhne i measc an 25 ealaíontóir atá ag glacadh páirt ann. Féile na Bealtaine 2016

We’re in for a big treat this year as Féile na Bealtaine, our annual arts and music festival comes around again. With 25 listed visual arts events not to mention the countless other events that would take too long to mention, I decided to just highlight some of the art events organised by artists who have been part of our printmaking group.

Tá an fhéile is fearr ar domhain tagtha arís! Féile na Bealtaine! Ós rud é go bhfuil an méid sin ar siúil nílim ach ag díriú ar roinnt bheag den chlár fís ealaíona. Tá tuilleadh eolas, gan dabht, le fáil anseo Féile na Bealtaine.
